HISTORY

The Pet Assistance Foundation was established in the Los Angeles area in 1955 by people who wanted to further the humane treatment of pets and to control unwanted breeding. Pet Assistance has operated in the North San Diego County for almost 40 years. We are incorporated and are a non-profit organization.

There are 12 branches throughout southern California, of which we are one. Each branch is responsible for raising their own monies and ALL MONEY RAISED STAYS LOCALLY, IN THAT COMMUNITY. All branches are governed by a Board of Directors. Our branch is run by volunteers and, with the exception of phone, postage and printing, all money goes to help animals.

Our function is to provide a way for pet owners to have their animals spayed or neutered at very reasonable cost. The work is done by fully qualified, participating veterinarians who care about pet overpopulation.
